A hare- laughed at the tortoise slow pace – tortoise wanted to have a race -the hare mocked – day fixed – race began – the tortoise reached the goal – the hare was defeated.

The Hare and the Tortoise

Once there lived a hare and a tortoise. The hare had the habit of ridiculing the tortoise for his slow pace. The hare would say,” Lazy creature, How slowly you crawl! ” The tortoise felt pinched one day and said,” Let us have a race and see who can win.” The hare mocked at the tortoise at first and then agreed to run a race. The race started and the hare ran off. The tortoise set off slowly but steadily. The hare was tired. So he was taking rest and soon fell asleep. Meanwhile the tortoise reached the goal walking slowly. The hare woke up and ran to the destination. He was surprised to find that the tortoise had already reached the victory post. The hare’s pride brought about his downfall.

Moral: Slow and steady wins the race./ Pride comes before a fall.
