There was a girl who was feeling really frustrated with life. She didn’t know what to do, so she decided to ask her wise father for some advice. Her father thought for a moment and then asked her to bring an egg, two tea leaves, and a potato. The girl was confused but did as her father asked.

Her father started boiling water in three separate pots. He put the egg, potato, and tea leaves in each pot respectively. The girl watched as the water started to bubble and the ingredients began to cook. After a few minutes, her father asked her to take out the egg and potato and strain the tea leaves. The girl did as she was told, still unsure of what was happening.

Her father then explained to his daughter what had happened. The soft egg had turned hard after being boiled, while the hard potato had become soft. And the tea leaves had changed the water itself, making its taste different.

The girl was puzzled and asked her father what this experiment meant. Her father smiled and said, “When adversity comes knocking at our door, we have a choice. We can respond to it in different ways, just like the egg, potato, and tea leaves.”

Moral: We decide how to respond to difficult situations.
