In a certain house, there lived a group of mice. Surprisingly, there was no cat to be found, allowing the mice to roam freely and feast on whatever they found in the kitchen. However, the master of the house grew increasingly disturbed by their presence. Determined to solve this problem, he decided to bring a cat into the house, hoping it would eliminate the mice.

The cat proved to be an exceptional hunter, striking fear into the hearts of the mice. They were now trapped in their hiding holes, unable to venture out.

After much contemplation, the mice gathered for a meeting to devise a plan to rid themselves of the cat. Unfortunately, no one could come up with a suitable solution. Just as hope seemed lost, a young mouse spoke up, suggesting, “Friends, why don’t we attach a bell to the cat’s neck? Whenever the cat moves, the bell will ring, giving us a warning to flee.”

Excitement filled the air as all the mice agreed that it was indeed a brilliant plan. However, an old mouse, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke up, casting a shadow of doubt over their newfound joy. “Undoubtedly, it is a good plan,” he said. “But who among us will have the courage to bell the cat?”

Silence engulfed the room as the mice realized the truth in the old mouse’s words. Their enthusiasm vanished in an instant, and they scattered, abandoning their meeting place.

Moral: It is much easier to propose a solution than to actually carry it out.
