যখন বাক্যে দুটি জিনিসের উল্লেখ থাকে এবং সেগুলি ‘and’ অথবা ‘as well as’ দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে তখন বাক্যে ‘not only….but also’ যোগ করে রুপান্তর করা হয়।

The man is not only foolish but also proud.

She not only rinsed the popcorn bowls but also took meat out of the freezer.
মনে রাখতে হবে যে দুটি জিনিসের (noun/action/adjective)উল্লেখ বাক্যে থাকে তার প্রথমটির আগে ‘not only’ ব্যবহার করা হয় এবং ‘but also’ ব্যবহার করা হয় ‘and /as well as’ এর জায়গায়।
বাক্যে ‘besides’ দিয়ে দুটি জিনিসের উল্লেখ থাকলেও ‘not only…but also’ ব্যবহার করে বাক্যের রুপান্তর করা হয়।

He is not only intelligent but also honest.
Besides being thrown into jail, he was heavily fined.
He was not only thrown into jail but also heavily fined.
